Are Unions still necessary?`

ARE UNIONS STILL NECESSARY?
The image shows workers in trade unions make the decision.

Unions can be defined as the action of coming together to protect their rights or change the working force. Being around for decades unions have their benefits and doubt but it's necessary because economy is constantly changing and so does society. Workers today may think they should higher that what they're actually being paid for and putting up a strike can allow them to get what they want. But if a person alone feels that they want better working conditions it is their decision to leave. Society can benefit from the unions and gives the public an opportunity to their interests.

Barack Obama states "...[A]s I look out on this crowd and as I travel across this country, the one thing I know for certain is that labor unions are still mobilizing. Labor unions are still organizing. And you're still fighting to give America's working people a voice in Washington.

I'm tired of playing defense. I know the AFL-CIO
[American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organization] is tired of playing defense. We're ready to play some offense. We're ready to play offense for a decent wage. We're ready to play offense for retirement security...

We're ready to play offense for organized labor. It's time we had a President who didn't choke saying the word 'union.' A President who knows it's the Department of Labor and not the Department of Management. And a President who strengthens our unions by letting them do what they do best - organize our workers. If a majority of workers want a union, they should get a union.

Unions: A revolutionary critique - Red and Black Notes
This image projects supports for unions
(https://libcom.org/library/unions-revolutionary-critique-red-black-notes)

Unions give workers a choice to what they're jobs are. If a teacher has been through the highest level of education and paid for his extended learning to become the best at his/ her field then the particular group of people who agree have the right to demand higher pay. Unions allow this kind of action to occur. Barack talks about giving the working people an opportunity to act on their behalf to allow them to defend themselves. The use of offense shows that companies expect this kind of conflict between the employees. The president being in support of unions, gives a better chance to increase benefits for the working people. Environmental changes was also permitted for the unions whenever they felt that their working field was too dangerous to do their jobs. Demanding and enforcing security is one of the qualities that gave unions an advantage. Many unions spoke out on working conditions. Working class benefit more being in unions.

"In the 20th century, the United States government began to take actions by passing labor laws. Labor laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (1938), Labor-Management Relations Act (1947), Equal Pay Act (1963), Civil Rights Act (Title VII – 1964), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA – 1970) required employers to ensure all employees’ rights were protected and their working conditions were safe.
In the 21st century, due to the numerous federal and state labor laws enacted, labor unions are no longer needed. In fact, they are anti-productive. As labor unions continue to negotiate higher wages and benefits, some companies are seeking cheaper labor in other countries while other companies have even gone out of business due to rising costs." _JeanMarie Harper (http://www.examiner.com/article/are-labor-unions-still-needed-the-united-states-today)
Unions sometimes don't work people end losing their jobs and being replace.(http://www.cartoonwork.com/unions_g54.html)
19th century is a completely different generation from 21 century. Back then factories owners were harsh and had a lot of  power. Eventually people who were involved in unsuccessful unions ended up losing their jobs. Some workers depended on these jobs for everyday living and to support their families.  Other people in need would easily replace those who didn't enjoy their position previously. Now times have changed laws have been passed, so that unions wouldn't be needed. Employees have the right to force the law against the system for breaking the rules. Unions can only bring greed to the workers. Enough has been done to protect the employees.  Unions aren't necessary anymore, if a person isn't happy working were they're positioned they can easily get another job or retire if it applies to them.

My conclusion is viewing both sides bring up a great debate whether unions should be around. A great benefit of unions is that the workers have the right to ask for a higher pay. Providing safety or a safer environment is allowed to workers if they get together and develop unions. A doubt about unions is that they aren't needed anymore. Laws have been passed to protect the working people from just about majority problems from the past. Generations are different so working class are being continuously changing for the better. I think unions should still be around because certain jobs are still dangerous and not enough is being done to protect the workers. People with low income, and immigrants might be afraid to form a union in case they'll lose there job. Sometimes poverty doesn't give the worker much of a choice but to except the job no matter what conditions they're. Unions are still necessary.

Hitler & The World

Hitler & The World

Add caption
4 Reasons for his rise to power
*The great depression Germany faced after WW1
was an advantage for political movement
*His position in government allowed him to dictate & create a group (Nazi) control over legislation
*Became president head of state after the death of former German president Hindenburg
*Munich agreement reversed treaty of Versailles this treaty ended the war between Germany & allied powers. Germany suffered from this treaty.

Which reason was the main cause for the rise of Hitler?
I believe time period, his interest & participation in politics allowed Hitler to rise. Hitler admired Germany & the people appreciated that because the country was still recovering from the damages of WW1. As soon as he gain political power he invaded Poland thinking Britain, nor France wouldn't declare war. He wanted revenge for Germany!

2 source that support my view
"Hitler spoke in a charismatic style that impressed the German people...By January 1933, Hitler and his National Socialist (Nazi) party controlled Germany. Hitler became a dictator, a leader with complete control. The Nazis acted quickly against all who opposed their rule...Hitler suggested that there were easy solutions to the complex problems the German people faced in the 1920's..."
_(http://www.mrdowling.com/706-hitler.html)

"Hitler was a brilliant speaker, and his eyes had a peculiar power over people.   He was a good organizer and politician.   He was a driven, unstable man, who believed that he had been called by God to become dictator of Germany and rule the world.   This kept him going when other people might have given up.   His self-belief persuaded people to believe in him...Hitler's rise to power was based upon long-term factors - resentment in the German people."
_(http://www.johndclare.net/Weimar7.htm)

Different Reason

"So how did all of this promote Hitler into becoming the Fuhrer of Germany? First of all, Hitler had very strong views on the treaty. Even though he was Austrian, he loved Germany more than anything. Hitler hated the Treaty of Versailles and he often referred to the people who signed it as "November criminals" because the war had ended in November. He stirred up the German people by reminding them of parts of the treaty that they would not like and he promised that if he was elected he would refuse to abide by many terms in the treaty, such as the reparations, military restrictions, and the land which was "stolen" away from Germany. He knew that people in Germany felt bad from the depression, and so the majority of the population blamed their problems on the treaty, this caused many to turn towards Hitler, because he had been against the treaty right from the start."

Conclusion
Hitler admire Germany and he wanted revenge. After he served WW1 he did not like what the treaty of Versailles did to the country.

Is War Inevitable?

Is War Inevitable?

2 opinions (Yes war can be Inevitable)

Bones are used to spell out war, symbolizing only death is left after war. http://www.prototypesyndicate.com/2012/01/stop-the-violence-campaign/

Yes. First stop dehumanizing the enemy. Stop glorifying warriors. Stop the simplistic false narrative of totaling good vs. evil and that when we kill we're good but when the enemy kills they're evil.Stop imposing conditions for peace talks. Stop assuming we're rational but the enemy is not. Though we like to say war is hell and that we try to avoid war-in reality we make heroes out of warriors thereby glorifying war. All these memorials to soldiers of war lend cache to the narrative that war is a noble en-devour-if you're one of us. Perhaps we need memorials to the victims of all these wars-civilians.We need more stories of civilians deaths-and less of "heroes" accomplishments.Stop portraying terrorism as inhuman and terrorists as not worthy of any human consideration. -- Rose-Ellen Caminer

As long as humans insist on dividing themselves along religious lines and proclaiming vast theological differences -often over tiny disagreements of interpretation- they will feel the need to fight and either impose their will on others or defend against perceived incursions on their freedoms. How can we even dream of the end of war when religions fight among themselves with such violence? -- Nat Benchley

2 opinions (No war can't be inevitable)
This image portrays the spirit an american should have towards its country. http://www.pinterest.com/beachlady805/recruitment-posters/

War is clearly NOT inevitable, as Paul Chappell explains in his three books. Wars benefit the few at the expense of the many; wars can be avoided by mutual understanding and a willingness to address each others' needs; wars reflect a win-lose mindset, whereas the obvious interdependence of modern life demonstrates that there is no US/THEM; we're all in it together, so we need a win/win approach. Moreover, modern wars always end with negotiated settlements. If we don't have an us vs. them mentality, we can skip the bloodshed and begin with negotiation. Since the majority of people don't benefit from war, we can become the force that advocates negotiation and rejects war. -- Leslee Goodman
http://www.wnyc.org/story/215669-war-inevitable-heres-what-you-think/

War is not inevitable, it is a decision. When governments or groups push moral boundaries and suffocate people's rights and freedoms, war can become an answer to right the wrongs committed, however that does not make ear inevitable. The alternative to war is better communication and the ability to understand human rights.

My Opinion

This picture portray's "Good" as a sarcastic remark. http://www.demotix.com/news/1506799/activists-anti-war-signs-fill-streets-dallas#media-1506798

“It always seems impossible, until it is done.” -Nelson Mandela
"If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress."  -Barack Obama

War is inevitable, I believe a conflict can be solved without violence. Talking things out is better then using aggression, and staying neutral. Switzerland is land that has yet to be in apart of a war, they maintained neutral during world war one. War is an immature action because both sides have to suffer in some kind way. Only the world can solve a Big problem if everybody contributes. With the right leaders and the right attitude we can proceed to a better world with no wars.
The outcome of a war is nothing but wrong. War itself is wrong to begin with because the outcome of it is pride and deaths. The minds of a soldiers doesn't come back the same, families suffer from a lost loved one, sometimes people remain missing. If pride and wealth can be evenly balanced and the faith anything is possible. Little changes make a big difference.

Industrialization Revolution

Industrial Revolution vs Climate

What was the Industrial Revolution?
The industrial revolution was a time period where it transition agriculture to machines and factories. It was a turning point for society. Technology, and transportation advanced to another level.

What benefits did it bring? Rapid urbanization, people flocked to the cities to get in the factories. New inventions allowed products to be produced faster. Transportation expanded allowing people to arrive to further destinations. Technology advanced , average living and working became easier. Middle class benefited the most from this revolution. People slowly started moving away from agriculture to live the city life.

Cholera was a greatly feared disease that could spread with speed and with devastating consequences. It arrived Britain in 1831 on a ship docking in Sunderland.

What were some cost? Many diseases developed due to the pollution from machines, non sanitized streets, bad living conditions. Bad living condition, example tight cramped rooms, the tenements use to catch fire quickly because they were so close together.

Humans effects has caused changes to the world globally, temperatures are increasing impacting the environment. Image http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science/causes.html

How does climate change impact the benefits/cots balance of the industrial revolution's impact on history?
The Industrial Revolution left a bad mark on earth bringing in anew extended gas. Carbon dioxide has been released to the atmosphere causing the earth to heat up slowly

Child Labor

Child Labor

Kids are being put to work at such young age, due to poverty
WHY IS THERE CHILD LABOR?
Poverty is the biggest issue in why there is child labor today. Lack of government support, makes parents to but they child to work. Most kids came from poor families. Sometimes families were so poor that they needed for the child to work in order to get by. Children were the perfect fit to work in the factories because they got paid less, owners of factories would rather save money and hire anyone who would do the work for less. Machines didn't take much effort it was a all rounded, basic job in the factory because the machines did most of the work. Kids were small enough to fix small errors when the machine had problems.

WHERE IS CHILD LABOR OCCURRING?
Asia And majority of the pacific ocean region (78 million 9.3% of children population)
Sub-Saharan Africa (59 million 21%), Latin American & Caribbean (13 million 8.8%), Middle East & North Africa (9.2 million 8.4%),

This picture demonstrates the map of percentage of kids who aren't time limited in their work field/ job.
[Sited: http://www.glpinc.org/Web_pages/Illiteracy_Globally.html]

WHAT CAN WE DO TO PREVENT CHILD LABOR?
Child Labor sometimes is seen as the potential and dignity being harmed physically, and mentally, this has impacted the world especially society. Agriculture is the most important sector of child labor (98 million 59%). Get rid of brutal works no kid should be in a hazardous environment example coal mines, agriculture, and around big factory machines. Speak out about it, form a group or an organization to spread the voice and be apart of the movement. One of the reasons kids are working and experiencing child labor is because the parents can't afford to send their child to school. Education should be free to everyone especially children. Government should provide support to those families in poverty, the hunger epitomizes one of the reason why children go through labor work. The hunger can be defeated by opening/ starting new programs that provide food to the hungry and needy.  Speak out about it, form a group or an organization to spread the voice and be apart of the movement.
